Before I'm Dead

by Spoken Silence   Aug 2, 2008

** For A Contest **

Before I'm dead I must make a list.
Stating everything that would be missed,
Showing my death it would consist.
Knowing that I will forever not be missed.

Darkness is what I crave for now,
The light my body will no longer allow,
For death is to be displayed like the prow,
The beauty of dying my body will surely allow.

Moon hangs round, a blade over my head,
Reminds me what to do before I'm dead.
Night consumes light and all I dread.
Reminds me what to do before I'm dead.

Now is the time for this great ending,
My final breath is the only thing pending,
And hell is where I will be attending.
My soul is what they are pending.

Wow. This was really dark and deep. I think that you did a fabulous job. I loved the lyrics you used for my contest in this poem, they fit the poem so perfectly. The repetition, I didn't really like. But it worked alright considering there was a rhyme to the poem which helped. Well written. 5/5
