My Shadow

Once you were a shadow,
always beyond my sight.
Yet I've felt you there,
through every lonely night.

Now that the shadows are gone,
there you clearly stand.
As you reach out,
and gently take my hand.

Hesitant is how I feel,
as you hold my near.
My pain begins to seep away,
along with my fears.

The feel of your fingers,
as they caress my skin.
Brings out the passions,
held deep within.

The taste of your lips,
so gentle and soft.
One look into your eyes,
I forever become lost.

Lost in your arms,
and in the love you show.
I want to be with you forever,
this I want you to know.

You were just a shadow,
now you're the air I breathe.
I'll love you now and always,
by your side I'll always be.
