My Last Farewell

I see a break in the clouds,
am I almost there?
Am I almost over,
my pain and fear?

It's been over a month,
but the hurt still lingers.
My love slipped away,
like water through my fingers.

Are you happier now,
then when you were with me.
Does your heart hurt,
or are you glad that you're free?

Do you think about us,
and how great we were?
Did you leave because you didn't love me,
or were you just unsure?

Do you miss the times,
I was asleep by your side?
Or when we drove around,
just to enjoy the ride?

Do you regret when you,
chose to walk away?
Do you wish it was different,
do you wish you had stayed?

The choice you made,
was yours to make.
Although my hearts the one,
that had to break.

You can't say,
I never tried.
So now I'll say my farewell,
my last goodbye.
