PLEASE

by TheBarefootedCowgirl   Aug 4, 2008

PLEASE ask me just one more time
tell me once more everything will be fine
silently i plead to you with pain-filled eyes
but you're too busy to notice so you believe all my lies

PLEASE ask me just once more
ask if i'm ok just once more
PLEASE don't listen when i tell you 'go away'
PLEASE, i'm really begging you to stay

PLEASE, PLEASE just ask me again
even though i say i hate you, i need you as my friend
i love you and i long for you to hold me close
i'm not fine by myself as i so often boast

PLEASE tell me that you love me and you're here to stay
just once more and i won't push you away
i know that you love me, i just need you to tell me
only once more and i'll show you the real me

the real me that's hurting and wanting to die
not the me that's been telling you all of these lies
one more chance is all i ask for
all i need is just once more

PLEASE mommy, i just needed once more
i'm only thirteen, i'm still your little girl
don't lose faith, don't give up on me, PLEASE
i'm begging you to hear my silent screams

when you pull back and leave me alone
i have decided my time to leave has come

i pull the trigger and i fall to the ground
now, after that, i don't make a sound

if you had asked me once more, then would i still be here?
i don't know...but PLEASE......ask me that last year......

You kind of wandered away from the poem's stanza structure at the end, but content-wise, except for the confusing part where the reader may think you are talking to a friend or a b/f, this is a very good poem.
