Footprints of Futility

by Ashraaf   Aug 4, 2008

Memories cling on, Memories that refuse to go away
Crushed dreams, wishes unfulfiled
Hoping against hope, unravelling my destiny
I travel alone leaving behind footprints of futility

Buds have withered before they could blossom
A journey undertaken that was never meant to be
Searching for innocence, life has become a mystery
I travel alone leaving behind footprints of futility

The fire has died, embers have turned cold
Visions have become hazy, the mist has rolled in
The tide has ebbed away, shores have become empty
I travel alone leaving behind footprints of futility

The stars have stopped shinning, the sky looks dark
Eyes have become moist, spring does not smile
Icy winds keep my company, a soul is escaping captivity
I travel along, leaving behind footprints of futility
