You will never understand me.

by Amy   Aug 4, 2008

Until you've felt the sting of depression,
Until you've been destroyed by a friend,
Until you've felt that knife rip through your skin,
Until you've felt like there was nothing left to live for,
Until you've realized your dreams will never come true,
Until you've found a friend you can talk to,
Until you've stepped into the stable and grinned,
Until you've felt the horse gliding underneath you,
Until you've felt time stop in the middle of a jump,
Until you've felt their soft breath on your face,
Until you've cried countless tears of joy,
Until you've felt true and honest passion,
Until you've gotten that nervous horse to trust you,
Until you've looked in that horse's eyes and nearly lost it,
Until you've felt, in that moment, that there's nobody else you'd rather be,
You will never understand me.

Although I love horses, I think I can relate this to my best friend-my cat. (I felt the same way when he passed at age 12, had him from 6 weeks)
