If you'd come with me

by Melissa   Aug 5, 2008

This cage is filled with stagnant air
My breathing is short and beyond repair
I've come to the end and given in
It seems my heart has lost and yours is just made of tin

I wrote our names merrily embedded in the sand
I've lost control of my feelings, lost sight of your hand.
Dreams came so easily and now they're lost.
Lost in the world of wishing wells and stars, my fingers are no longer crossed.

If the way we kissed, meant nothing, I am at a loss for what to say
Your friends decisions and logic shouldn't get in the way.
Listen to your heart and live for today
Because this very moment won't always stay.

Don't you want to know what it's like to live life with no regrets?
I would be willing. In fact, I've even placed all the bets.
Love isn't easy and no one ever said it'd be
They just said it'd be worth it so please take my hand and come away with me.
To a land where we could be together, where we could be free.
