The pretender

by CY GINDLE   Aug 6, 2008

Pretending has become a art
second nature to me

I want so bad to be me
To be who I am

But I know this could
never be

I always say the wrong thing
at the wrong time
Always out of line

The real things I say
never seems to matter
they're just words

Words of useless chatter

I will never be accepted
as I am
to them

So I go on pretending
Wearing my pretending
mask

Wondering when will it
stop
When will I be caught
How long must this
last

Fing love the idea behind your words hear, its a concept many people wrongly choose to ignore and even encourage, im glad you see past that. Very nice

Your words are truth, we the masked have to hide our true nature to be liked, to be loved. Truly good to see another like me.

Another truly brilliant piece. Your words were so powerful and truthful. I think in away we all wear our own masks pretending and putting on a facade. the thing is that life is basically a facade, we tell people we are okay when really we are completely broken on the inside but still put on a mask and pretend as if everything is okay. This poem really made me think about things that have happened really recently in my life. it truly is an amazing piece!!!! we done and take care xXx
