Tell Me Lies

by WrittenInTheStars   Aug 7, 2008

You promise me you'll be okay
only to find you the next day,
overdosed on pills just because
you thought they'd heal your ills.
They may have stopped your pain
but nothing have I to gain,
you lie to me and I believe
but nothing more can I concieve.
So with this shining knife
I have vowed to end my life,
one daring slice across my wrist
my hand clenched into a fist.
I draw in one last breath
and now I am cloaked in death,
so lower me now into my grave
and tell my loved ones to be brave.

Wonderful. Absolutely amazing. I can completely understand the feelings and emotions behind this. The structure was good and the rhyming was great.

"so lower me now into my grave
and tell my loved ones to be brave."

Those were my favorite lines. That was a great ending to your poem. <3
