Tree Carving

by Mike Adams   Aug 7, 2008

We walk in the park
Just me and you
Writing on bark
Oh I love you

We draw a heart
With our names
To never be apart
And to never play games

I take the knife
And hold it tight
Start to carve
That wonderful site

The blade makes a mark
On the side of the tree
I start out with an arc
And soon you will see

The whole heart
Starts to come together
Just like you and me
Staying like this forever

The heart is done
And ready for the names
As we carve as one
We write inside the frame

I love you
And you love me
Together forever
I take out a key

The key to my heart
Its very true
As we never part
This key is for you

I want you to have it
Take it, hold it tight
Never let it go
Until that very night

I drop on one knee
And I take out a box
Where it will soon hold a ring
But now its filled with rocks

This is the box
I will give to you
Down the road
Where you know what I do

I'm too young now
To buy you the ring
But think of the future
And what it will bring

Trust me honey
Its worth the wait
Once I get the money
I will give you fate

Ill start saving now
And in a few years
Ill recite the vow
Oh no here come the tears

No baby, please don't cry
I'm talking down the road
And I don't know why
I'm in that mode

I know I love you
And you should know too
I just cant wait for the day
When we both say I do
