Upon the wake of a sinner's day...

by Ash   Aug 8, 2008

Upon the wake of a sinner's day,
You told the truth that you'll never stay.
The tears fell down upon his face,
But you knew you couldn't walk at the same pace.

Upon the ground of a sinner's keep,
You thought you would realize the need,
That no matter how hard you try to run,
You'll always hurt the people you care the most about.

Upon the tear stained faces of a sinner's place,
You cannot begin to fathom such disgrace,
It's almost an empty state of being,
A feeling of being trashed upon places that have no meaning.

Upon the light that sinner's revel with utmost faith,
Another leap and you're just bound to fall flat on your face.
You knew your destiny was to be alone in life,
Then why did you cut such a deep wound with your knife?

Upon the feet where sinner's cannot hold to pray,
Why did you not walk away when the time really came?
Why were you hurting him at every step of the way?
Why is it that you're always making the same old mistake?

Upon the tomb where a name lies still in memory of that day,
For what sin do you continually want to pay?
You lost such a dear soul, why are you bent on losing more?
This is not the way you should walk without care.

Upon the path where sinner's trash their beings apart,
No matter how hard you try you can never play that part,
For even though care and love are possessed withing your being,
That same feeling is what you'll continually be seeing.

Upon each word that sinner's delve so deep,
You're not meant to be within life's keep.
So try not to be this great being that you think you are,
For the truth is that everyone deserves someone better than the person that you are!
