Just a 16-year-old girl

by D   Aug 8, 2008

I'm just a 16-year-old girl
living in this big world.
I have my ups and downs,
I have my smiles and frowns.

I don't know much about life,
I can't say what is wrong or right.
I just know that it's short
and I should do what I want.

I have many dreams and wishes
I want them to become true.
I know I'll have to work hard
and that's one of my goals in life.

I don't know much about love,
I've had just two boys in my life.
But I believe that someday
I will meet the right one.

I'd been hurt so many times.
I'd been lied, teased and smashed.
But I know I'm not perfect too,
so I'll say just one thing to you:

I'm just a 16-year-old girl
with the big old dreams.
I have a big heart
and I will never scream.

Simply put, and straight to the point. I love the simple honesty it conveys. Good write.
