Some good advice?

I've decided right now, that I will no more
Put the feelings out there, that come straight from my core
No longer will I wear my heart on my sleeve
My experience is that it makes people leave
For getting walked on, I'm a sucker or so I am told
So before I go back to those habits of old
I'll conceal my thoughts now, I think it's a must
And batter aside all those feelings of trust
You only end up looking such a big fool
And frankly my dear, it's rather un-cool!
