Hide and Seek

by brie kelly wise   Aug 10, 2008

The clouds take shape of the bruises in your thoughts
The rain crawls on the window, drawing veins, so fraught
We've learned to hate the mirrors for coming of age treason
We're not capable of learning we're all here for the same reasons
It's a different story when you're blessed from the bottom of innocence
Your image, in a sense, it captures you, but let's you off when you're tense
Hours climb, moments slice up your taste for confidence and self-absorption
Passing by the signs for the restless drain your appetite for your secret sins
The color inside you taunts your biggest fear, and now they've become
So attractive, they crave themselves, you tell us all you've given up
You're burnt to death, built to last, torn down your lack of lust
We search to find you clawing ground, when you've begun to lose our trust
I'll hold you now, lay you next to me, close your eyes, and believe in me
There comes a time when we all fall down, where tender comfort is all we need
Well mothers everywhere will find, their daughters tend to drift away
She sees you now, your pretty face, you're lost inside, don't lose your faith
The color inside, it embraces your biggest cry, and now you've become
So beautiful, you calm yourself, you tell us you were playing hide and seek with trust

Wow-this poem is really really good!!!!!!!!!!
    I love the line:
"She sees you now, your pretty face, you're lost inside, don't lose your faith"

It flows really well and also has such strong emotions.
will be reading more of yours!
