Smiling As I Hurt Inside (629)

Smiling As I Hurt Inside

Walking toward you,
I put on my smile,
The one that is fake
But will last all day,
While I'm with you.

Walking with you,
I keep on grinning,
But my head, full of secrets,
Will keep on spinning
Around, around.

I'm looking at you,
I've lost my grin,
It's almost as if
My sadness will win,
But I won't let it...

I smile again,
But you know it's fake,
I know you are watching,
You are wide eyed, awake,
You know I'm pretend...

I've faked it all
And I will fall,
But first I will cry
Because I quit smiling
A long time ago...

The only reason that I try
Is to keep a wide open mind,
To keep on smiling, always at you,
Because I know you're hurting too,
Although it's deep inside...

But I know that I love you,
So I'll refrain from feeling the hurt,
Just for you, just for you...
