Walks To School

by Wolf Haines   Aug 10, 2008

The morning chill
And the sleepy eyes.
The dragging of feet,
And the yawning mouths.
The kicking of stones,
And a slouching bag.
The worn shoes,
And missing ties.
Taking the longer route,
And being late.
The meeting with friends,
And the entering of shops.
Picking on the younger years,
And thinking it was fun.
Oh how I miss
My walks to school.

Mmm, yes, I still walk to school, but even just with the summer I miss it...nice work, very reminiscent, and I can tell you mean what you're talking about.
    Take care,
