The Souls Window

by The Angel of Secrets   Aug 11, 2008

A girl stands in the darkness,
She is sore and she is weak.
The light stands there and it's slightly calling,
She opens her mouth but she can't speak.

The light asks her to come forward,
"Step into the light."
She uses her last bits of strength to take a step,
Knowing it's the last time she will fight.

The clarity hits her face,
And she stumbles for a while.
She raises her head, looks at the light,
And forces on a smile.

It looks to everyone as if she has found the light,
But she still stands in the cold.
She's freezing from within,
Wanting to say those words never told.

She could be the girl next door to you,
Just another girl in your class.
A family member or your closest friend,
Or just another among the mass.

She's just waiting for you to reach out your hand,
Waiting for a little help, a little warmth in the smallest ember.
Just waiting, waiting, for someone to come,
Just look at her and remember:

When body language ceases,
And the mouth doesn't open even if it's just to pray.
The souls window is always open,
And it's amazing what a pair of eyes can say.

Wow Line, that was sad yet beautiful. I love the ability you have to create eerie deep atmospheres. I felt like I was that girl and going through all those powerful emotions. Loved it! Hugs.
