Undercurrent of love

by Anthony M   Aug 11, 2008

Waves crash upon the beach
leaving the lost souls of love behind,
happiness now out of their reach
joining their brethren in the sands of time.

The outgoing tide off to seek more victims
the ocean of love is insatiable
catering only to it's own whims,
it's motives entirely debatable.

Some stragglers barely alive
keep their hopes up
for a ride on the next high tide,
Neptune laughing, slays them like a seal pup.

^^^I know this feeling you are talking about.
Sometimes that is all you can do: fight, against your better judgement..
Lovely poem, tipped by a friend and she was right:)

I really like your opening lines and the root which you took the poem, the perils of love. Our description and flow were really nice, you kept me wanting to read on, very nice job. Keep up the good work.
