I Wish Even If

I wish I was the picture in your heart shaped locket
along with the picture kept in your right back pocket.
I wish I was the poster of the girl in your room.
The one all dressed in a sexy costume.

I wish each love note was made strictly for me
and when you close your eyes I'd be the only girl you see.
I wish I was the only one you'd think of in "that way"
and even though we're separate your eyes wouldn't stray.

I wish you would love me and not another soul.
If only I was the single one to make you whole.
But all of that's impossible, at least it seems to be.
I guess all of these wishes love can't guarantee.

Even if this love is true those wishes don't matter
leaving my heart vulnerable enough to shatter.
Even if you love me too and feel the same way
the wishes will be there by the end of the day.

Even if I am the apple of your eye
upon those eyes I can't always rely.
Even if these wishes will never come true
I find myself still madly in love with you.
