Who Knew

by reJoyce   Aug 13, 2008

Who knew my love for you would be the most complicated ordeal I would ever have to face? Who knew I would wait this long only to maybe wait another four years with no promise of return? However difficult, I am more than willing to endure this struggle and undertake the challenge of giving everything. What more could I want than to give everything for you? It is so illogical to let these encounters with the doubt of deceit change my mind. Why do I have to fight every desire to be with you and to hold you? I thought I already defeated this shortcoming. My love for you is so intense, overwhelming at times. I can't hold it all in unexpressed. Every time I witness something amazing I instinctively desire to share it with you. Coincidentally, I don't always have to when I'm already experiencing something amazing when I'm with you.

With these eyes that lie and these tears that hide,
I'll cry in secret and rest in solitude, loving you in silence. My dry, unstained face soaking the tears before they fall.

There are plenty of hot girls and plenty of nice ones too, but theirs is only one you. I may be determined but I am determined. Although somehow I've gotten too much of a good thing if possible that may be, moderating love has never been on my agenda. Now we need some time apart to preserve this. Yet a vacation from you seems like an oxymoron, a necessary drought, taking water from a thirsty heart. But even lovers need a holiday.

With these eyes that lie and these tears that hide,
I'll cry in secret and rest in solitude, loving you in silence. My dry, unstained face soaking the tears before they fall.

Good poem. I found it a little bit difficult to read, mixed in a few different styles into the poem. That could turn out to be your thing. Perhaps we have a picasso style poet on our hands? :) bene!
