Rethinking

I'm going to find a cliff
tall and mighty
it looks above a void of darkness

I'm going to stand there
wonder what's at the bottom
should I take one more step?
just to ease the pain

I stop to think
about all my friends
my life and family
and the dreams we share

I think of all the good times
fun we had
maybe this boring life
ain't so bad

I take one step back
but stop just there
I remember the pain I felt
and why I felt it

no one was there to ease the pain
no one there to help me through
I looked to people
but they only looked back

I looked to the sky
wishing I could soar that high
I look to the void
wishing to be held like that

I turn around
walk away
saying to myself
"maybe another day"
