Desolate's Diary

Desolate's Diary

Lovely forlorn eyes
Scanning bakery shop
Growling empty belly
Screaming nonstop

Coarse little hands
Searches the trash
Stumbles on a burger
Gobbles-up in flash

Under midnight blue
Scrounging for life
Glass-piece crept into
Grub relied to survive

World hunger is a disgrace and a shame, more so because of the children. I thank God each night for the food he provides for me and that he will provide the same for all the hungry in the world. World hunger has made me more conscious of not wasting food as I once did many years ago. You used such few words to deliver such a profound message. Excellent.

What a heartbreaking piece you have penned. Hunger is a problem world wide. When it is a child it is such a tragedy. No child anywhere should ever have to feel the pain of hunger. You have done a fantastic job brining this subject to light. The imagery and word choices are great!
    Take care
