A Wish

by H E Losey   Aug 15, 2008

A man and woman
A son did bear
To carry his name
And her ability to care

The son grew older
From this couple parted
A family of his own
He and a wife started

His children grew
Two girls got older
While the life he led
Seemed colder and colder

To journey home
Became his concern
To rejoin his parents
For their love did he yearn

This was cute. I loved the first 3 stanzas, but the last one was my favorite. I haven't left home yet, but I'm going to next year for college. I imagine this poem will represent me in a few years! lol Very good write.

Excellent word choice and rhyme. A very pleasurable poem to read, that had a deep meaning. Keep writing, always and forever.....
