The War of Love

by Sonya   Jun 4, 2004

Its hard to explain your heart
And give a reason for despair
But the tears fall without a warning
And the pain goes without and ending

There's really no way to put your feelings in words
But once you put them in some kind of order
It hurts to know
Your the only one
And soon enough
The heart you just healed

Will shatter among your feet once again
Its a never ending cycle
Of a battle of love
But never till the last one
Do you win
Just keep on trying
Don't let your guard down
For when you do

You lost the war of love
As someone shoves a knife
Threw your back
You never see it coming
And you never feel it leaving
That pain will forever stay with you
In memory or not

Its a hard cruel war
And one that will never end
A new person steps up to the plate
Every single day
Its like you put your self in front
And just wait to hurt again
For you don't know who to choose

They tell you you'll be together
They tell you its forever
Then the forever turns to a never
And with a caution
Rivers start to form
Of the tears you shed
No one knows the pain inside

Not many know
A way to make it stop
They think its so easy
To tell them how you feel
But when you expect something in return
Your realize you better stop dreaming
This time its real

But being alone
You still get hurt
One way or the other
Watching lovers walk
And everyone hold hands
You wish you did to
Have someone there to hold you

But once the spark you thought was there
Turns to a dimmer
From the light you saw
A shadow will show
Of something you didn't know
And once again you let down your guard
And once again
Your heart has broken
Too many scars to be healed
And too many tears to be taken away

So until in the end
The end were you find the one
You will keep on fighting
And keep on loosing
Until someday you will
The War of Love....
