Sweetest Dream

by PassionCourageTriumph   Aug 16, 2008

The moon shown down like heaven's veil,
As we listened to the sweet song of a Nightingale.

While our ears hearing the bird's joyful chorus,
We stared thoughtfully at the stars that shown before us.

Then as if you could read my mind,
You leaned over to kiss me, completely stopping time.

Our lips met, so soft and warm.
Angels started singing, I could've sworn!

I sat up and gazed into those amazing eyes,
Knowing that in this dream, with the star strewn skies,
That God would never suffer us the pain of saying goodbye.

Then I wake to the empty darkness taking over silently.
Yet I can still feel you, always with me.
There, by my side, making the sweetest of all dreams, a reality.

What a sweet love poem. It was written well and the imagery you created was good. The ending got to me a bit, i wasnt expecting it. But it did make the poem even better, to have a twist.
    Nice work.

A very detailed piece. i loved it. it shows true emotions, and even though the ending is a little sad, i loved that part the most. a little twist is always good in a poem. wonderful job. 5/5.
