That time (my marine)

by rebecca lewis   Aug 16, 2008

Remember that time when we would just hang
when a day on the town
was a day with the gang
remember that time
i got my first broken heart
your kiss reassured me
i should not fall apart
remember that time on our first real date
you turned the radio down
because you got me home late
remember that time
i had just turned 16
i laughed when you said
you would only love me
remember that time
we took that fateful walk
we both knew what to say but neither would talk
as i hear the guns shot
in memory of you
ill lay this letter down
along with this flag
and cry these tears so cold and sad
you've set my heart free
my dear marine so ill lighten your mind
and forever and always
remember that time.
