The Last Image

by Yeka   Aug 16, 2008

I saw your name engraved in lead,
As your bullet hit my heart
Visions of your rushed to my head
My life now falling apart
I remember we had so much fun
On our very first date
Love came in the form of a gun
The trigger was your hate
Even though you caused me pain,
I will still forgive you
Your memory of my blood stain,
Will soon seep through
As my life flashes before my eyes,
Slowly I start to fall
You were always feeding me lies
I believe them all
The last image I saw was you
It made me realize
All this time I was being true
You created my demise.

Well thats a very lovely poem and your subject choice and metaphor choice was good i thought that matbe you could have stretched the idea a bit/used it a bit more but never the less it was still well thought out and executed.Well done

Beautifully written, I enjoyed reading this write.

"Visions of your rushed to my head"

    your should be you.

"The last image I saw was you
    It made me realize
All this time I was being true
    You created my demise."

Great ending stanza, sums it up perfectly. Keep writing, always and forever....
