Goodbye

by Mimi   Aug 18, 2008

Two pairs of eyes,
each captive to the other,
Connect at the soul
With soundless whispers.

Streams of emotion
Force their way out
To relieve the aching
Swelling in their chests.

Fresh waves of nostalgia
Roll off them both
As they reminisce memories
That will be cherished forever.

They're wrenched apart
By time and destiny
Without having the heart
To think the word "Goodbye."
