The sand runs down from the hour glass, it's too late,
The ancient battles done and gone, we've met our fate,
The stars in the sky are crying, they know what has been done,
The fallen fell in true mercy, the battles won,
Forgotten happiness from so long ago,
Stands in stillness unwavering, in my shadow,
Blood dripping down and down, tears from the sky,
The light of love above us, as we march on to die,
Battle of religion battle for gold, we shun thee,
I stare in to your eyes, and you repulse me,
Opposition approaching we know not your name,
Yet we shall butcher and murder all the same,
Darkness has taken, what was once good,
And we shall all be punished, for the dripping blood,
Foe you've fallen to my feet, yet I do not blink,
You thought I'd show forgiveness, but now you can not think,
East is our direction, another battle there,
More mens lives being taken; I'm told I should not care,
Grit your teeth and smile boy, don't you show you're glum,
Just smile and bite the bullet, and don't you try to run,
But still the stars are crying, they know what has been done,
The fallen are the lucky ones, for the battles never won.
