Mercy Kill

by Jennifer RIP Lesthat Hayden   Aug 19, 2008

The residue of remorse stains my heart
each time you isolate the truth of your life.
I mourn for the love I once felt, for what is left
is tainted and leaves me with broken heart beats.

The dark circles under my eyes are normal,
but that doesn't take away time it took
to cry the tears during those insomniac hours.
How unfortunate those hurtful nights were.

Each time I think I'm getting better you
find a way to prove me wrong so easily.
Any ounce of happiness I bring with me
when we speak is never enough,

for you drain every last ounce out
of my system almost each time.
Sometimes I think you do this on purpose
so I have even less reason to speak with you.

Just tell me to never speak with you again.
Just break my heart once and for all.
Tell me to forget about you.
Do something soon or

I'll just be trailing along with
a limping heat all to get
closer to you for you are
the one I love even if

this pain is nearly unbearable.
I'm hanging on by a thread
and you hold the scissors...
I dare you to do it.

Cut me off like you want to.
Leave me broken and alone.
I want you to if that's easier.
I want you to if you plan on it.

Make it a mercy kill.
You can either keep me
until I fall and die
or kill me yourself.
