Who do you think you are?
Claiming all your power
Taking all the money
Just to build another tower

What do you think this is?
A different brand of war?
But people are still fighting
Until they'll be no more

Why are you still talking?
Why won't you just listen?
To people asking questions
It's the voices that you're missin'

You see its power that corrupts you
It's power that you feel
But all this power you collect
Is anything but real

They call it a democracy
So listen to the people
Listen to their stifled cries
Instead of sitting in your steeple

Why are you still fighting?
For what is it you seek?
Can't find a way out of it now
Not even a mere leak

So when will it be over?
And when will this all stop
Or will it just keep going
Until you're on the top
Or until we all just drop

What a wonderful poem. It sounds like it is direct at one person but I think it could serve well in governmental criticism as well. I suppose the poem delievers something to every person and that's when you know something is truly wonderful poetry. I also like the line "Why don't you just listen?"...if more people listened the world would be a..calmer...if nothing else, place. Great job hun!
