Tempest

by NightFlyer   Aug 20, 2008

Hurricane spins in a churning sea
Storm driven winds across the depths
Although no joy it brings to me
The music of night, in my heart, it sets.

And as you spin, I hear your roar
Through your surging waves, my soul is borne
To crash against life's rocky shore
Neath breaking clouds of crimson dawn.

So spin tempest, through the dark night
Toward tropic lands or open sea
As dreams reveal my heart's delight
Through oceans of time, this heart will flee.

Though smashed on rocks, I shall not fail
Against your wind, I'll make my stand
Through sunnier seas, my heart will sail
To walk with my love on coral sand.

"Hurricane spins in a churning sea
Storm driven winds across the depths
Although no joy it brings to me
The music of night, in my heart, it sets."

This opening stanza captured my attention right away and set a clear scene for the reader. I love your work so much, it is always filled with such passion and depth.

"And as you spin, I hear your roar
Through your surging waves, my soul is borne
To crash against life's rocky shore
Neath breaking clouds of crimson dawn."

What images have crept across my mind, stunning descriptions that have kept me extremely interested in each line.

"So spin tempest, through the dark night
Toward tropic lands or open sea
As dreams reveal my heart's delight
Through oceans of time, this heart will flee."

Great flow and rhyming, I never felt it to be off, everything read wonderfully in my mind.

"Though smashed on rocks, I shall not fail
Against your wind, I'll make my stand
Through sunnier seas, my heart will sail
To walk with my love on coral sand."

Stunning ending, I am falling in love with this stanza, the unique wording caught my eye and I cannot believe no one else has commented yet. You have such talent my friend, great job!

    Keep writing and take care.....
