What lies beneath

by jasmine cherry   Aug 20, 2008

A layer of hurt and sadness is buried beneath
the top layer
made up of indecision and unhappiness
a smile covers the awful sound of a broken heart
that has repaired it's self countless amount of time
it doesn't even resemble i heart
more like a moon that has a crater the size of the
GRAND CANYON
she disguises it with the uncanny ability to pretend
if she pretends then the truth cant be discovered
the truth of loneliness and not belonging
the non fitting in

and in her mind she knows its there
but know one wants to see
if found out the walls of the "family" is shattered
because if one is found out the others are bound
to break down and join the club

everyones appearance can be shattered by one little
ripple in there fa-sod and everything is thrown in the air
everyone would have to start over
she hopes that when she gets older
she'll be able to admit the truth that lies
beneath
