She Forgets

by Beautiful Chaos   Aug 21, 2008

Time has washed the thought away
Of who she used to be
Subtle hints surround her here
She wishes not to see

Broken windows, boarded doors
This house is but a shell
Memories of the life she lost
When all she knew was hell

Her younger sister never knew
So mourns this loss today
Reminders of the childhood
She lost along the way

She has no heart to cloud her mind
With years of hurt and pain
Though pray she's almost done with this
Before she goes insane

Living in the here and now
Is just so hard to do
When everything you fear and loathe
Stands surrounding you

The wall her head had come to know
The stairs that were her grave
Leading to the den of sin
Hurt hits her like a wave

She thanks the sun for saving her
And steps into the light
Once again to leave behind
The hate, the hurt, the spite

She hugs her sister close to her
Weighed with no regret
The life she knew so long ago
Again, she could forget

It is such a sad story and you make me want to know the rest of it, you should do a part 2 lol I also like the strength you give the girl in the poem, supporting her sister even though there is nothing but hurt and bad memories for her. Great job, I really enjoyed reading this one.
