Falling Star

by Prince Jared   Aug 21, 2008

You're all alone, sitting in a chair
In some room, far away somewhere
Once in a while you look out the window
Listening to distant words, "I told you so."

Sometimes life's hurts are inevitable
They'll show you a hidden path to follow
You think that someone should stay and listen
When they're not there, it's so hard to miss them

The dark clouds are overcast in your blue sky
And the only question you can ask is, "Why?"
All of the things that used to make you smile
Have deserted you; they won't be back for a while

Your hopes have drifted far away from you
Your dreams have crumpled to dust way too soon
You need the light of another new day
So you can just cry the rest of it away

You're all alone, sitting in a chair
Talking to someone who's not even there
Once in a while, a tear slips and falls down far
As you look one last time upon a falling star...
