Puppy Eyes, Darkest Now

by Curing the Comon Cliche   Aug 21, 2008

September, darkest now
For that you know you're certain
Look around the bright red world
That's your comfort burning

Consciousness is slipping
No, you think you're letting go
You're just a stray dog
There's a a lot that you don't know

September, darkest now
Hours bear no time
Words carry no meaning
No glimmer and no shine

Wander around September
You're just a faceless name
Look at all the others
And you're thinking just the same

Look at all the cliques
The bi tches have their own
But dog eat dog, Dear Reader
And you are all alone

You have no one there
You pretend to just walk around
You have no where to go
So you curl up on the ground

September, darkest now
The first day of school
Every dog puts on their best face
As we're desperate to be cool

September, darkest now
Stray dog, do your tricks
Put on a show for the others
So they can get their kicks

Puppy eyes, darkest now
For that I am certain
Wander down an ash-filled street
From your last comfort burning

I have become increasingly
Overwhelmed when
I'm in public
I'm not so patient when they stare
There's a fighter
Somewhere underneath this skin and bones
And do you know what I mean?
What I mean when I say that this girl
Has got a thing for my machine
