Peeling petals

Peeling petals

wake from your deep sleep

discard the dreaming state

Your swimming in misfortune

my foolish love

The water is above your head in waves of sorrow

My body aches from this struggle

Lungs filled with salt

Will you ever see the way it used to be now?

We all struggle with weakness

trying to progress to perfection

Holding the black rose of fate

peeling petals

letting them fall

As we fall alike into the tempest waters

I once knew exactly why i spoke

To be listened to, and in like listen

not just waiting for my turn to talk

but now i find words are no use

descriptions are coded and cryptic

plastic shapes faces smiles of happy sadness

It seems so useless when we only regress

Love is such a pretty thing

and you what a beautiful face,

All shadowed by hate

its constant brother that lie in wait

I look to your eyes and see it there

A distant memory

Stitches spell the words

and a heart beats awkwardly

I dug until the morning broke

stretching its morbid rays into blackness

It cold never lighten my soul

never fill this blackened whole

that is I, without you, sweet love, my fire.

I stand looking down

tears of ice forming my sleep deprived eyes

laying the wretched rose upon your chest

the very same one i must confess, that led me to you

tears anew, my face they kiss.

Letting petals float from fist.

they lower the casket

I swallow my speech

whispering the words

"love me not."

"love me not."

-You stand above me as my casket is set, twas not love that be the death of I.

Only a petal of silk, A blackened rose, of love me not's.
