The Little Green Monster Running For The Hills

by Soulful Ensemble   Aug 22, 2008

How will we chase this creature
Thats out there standing still?
Unmovable, with features
That frighten and give chills.

How will we change his mind
And get him just to leave?
His hatred for mankind
Is killing all the leaves.

I'll have to camp outside
And study all his skills.
Waiting for him just to cry
To send him running for the hills.

I have to scare him now
This creature can't stay in.
With every breath I vow
To always have him pinned.

And the abomination doesn't know
That love can burn through snow
And plow and saw through metal
Where sadness never shows.

The creature is outnumbered
There standing at the gates.
The arrows start to fall
But still the monster stays.

But soon enough love runs
And gallops to the field.
It can never be defeated
It has the strongest shield.

And the abomination runs
Its true nature revealed.
The coward is defeated
Proving love will never yield.

All the castle's people
Come out to the field.
To view the dying monster
Whose fate has been sealed.

And with a gaping smile
The little children say:
"Boy, it took a while
For love to find its way."

But deep down they all knew
That when they lied awake
Love wasn't so new
It had always been with them.

No abomination can stand
In what's not his to will.
So its best to lift a hand
And send him running for the hills.
