Snow Lay Upon The Rose

by Deana   Aug 23, 2008

Snow lay upon the rose
One early winter day
A gentle touch to hold her close
before she went away

One early winter day
Her petals closed in sleep
Before she went away
The snow fell soft and deep

Her petals closed in sleep
No longer could hold on
The snow fell soft and deep
Warmth already gone

No longer could hold on
A gentle touch to hold her close
Warmth already gone
Snow lay upon the rose

    Deana,

I reread this poem and I still think it is so beautifully written!
I love the soft, romantic feelings it evokes:)

Very nice. Each time I read it, I get a different meaning to it.
