NEVER AGAIN

by michael   Aug 23, 2008

The dew on the tree
shines off the ruby,
the bark welts
as the laughter melts.

Lost forever in a world of guilt
the word lost that ive built,
THe rhymes forgotten
when you dropped my heart, and it ripped and splattered apart.

the dagger was shown from times before
the scars appear and the up comes the fear,
never shall it happen again
so protective will it begin.

so close, so far
in prison behind these bars,
wrapped up in a cocoon
after my life was popped like a baloon.

Never again, never again.
run like hell before this befell

This poem has some flaws that stop me from rating it "excellent", however, it must be remembered that something not perfect, has some flaws, can make its overall presentation better than if it was structurally "perfection." This poet has made that rare poet-poem-receiver connection,
which makes its delivery "real". Thus well worth taking the time to read and experience it!
