Crimson Rain

by MidniteRain   Aug 23, 2008

Handprint fused to shattered glass,
All that remains
Of happiness & sorrow passed.
Tracing over each finger,
Hand finds its place.
Burning heat,
Flash of face,
Knees & ground meet,
Leaning against wall,
Shards cutting deep.
Tears start to fall,
Blood begins to seep,
Gut-wrenching pain,
Watching crimson merge,
With crystal-clear rain.
Wondering if all this is worth,
Falling in love again.

This is an excellent poem that is right to the point with a deftly executed twist. The work has a flow that engulfs the receiver until the very end, then ends right on ending-point...not an easy thing to pull off, even for the best of writers/poets!
