Im writing to you in the midst of war,
I fear this may be my last day.
Please hold back the tears till the end,
Hang on tight to every word I have to say.
Please tell our little boy I love him
And that he'll grow up to be a handsome man.
Tell him his dad died fighting for his country,
I pray with all my heart he will understand.
Please tell our daughter I love her,
And that she's daddy's little girl.
Let her know she's my beautiful princess,
And that I'm sorry I couldn't give her the world.
Wife to Soldier:
Dear My Love,
Im missing you more and more as the days go on,
And I miss waking up to you lying next to me.
I miss your eyes, your smile, your touch,
Here, at home, is where you should be.
Our baby boy tells his friends about his dad
And I can tell he's proud of you.
He tells them stories of being brave,
He thinks you're fearless too.
Our daughter is growing up with a mind of her own,
And she is as beautiful as can be.
Sometimes she sits alone in her room,
And she cries for you silently.
Together:
Now hold on to this last piece,
Because with it I send you my heart.
I will always love you whether in life or death,
Nothing will ever bring us apart.
