Then see lights flashing in your mirror
"License and registration please"
Something you don't have time to hear

Have a shirt or blouse you really like?
Or have one thats new?
You flaunt it for a couple hours
Then feel on your shoulder bird pooh

Ever go to start a project
Then find out you don't have the tools you need?
Just buy a new car
And the next day you see it's been keyed?

Ever come home to find out,
There was a bill that wasn't paid?
Did you ever have that heart breaking moment
To find an antique broke that your sibling made?

Ever been to Africa?
Live in a tribal town?
With no shelter, no clothes
No food growing from the ground

Ever lived in parts of Asia?
Where eight year old girls are sold for sex
They do the job and get money
Trained to never stop and ask whats next

How about travel to a different country
Where you severely get beat
If you don't bring in some money
From begging on the streets

Why is it little things make us tick
When there is so much to be thankful for
How can we have a bad day?
When there is still so much in store?

And how can something bring us down?
When their are people out there in need
Children who need to be fed and clothed
Eight year old prostitutes who should be freed

The next time something goes wrong
Or you find your totally stressed
I know people who would love to be in your shoes
Because they're in a bigger mess
