Distance Girl, Where?

by Cooper   Aug 25, 2008

*** I love a girl I've met once, and lives hundreds of miles away. Aren't I just a ray of sunshine? ***

Snake in the grass,
this is me, envenomed, dying fast.
(Or do the days pass slowly?)

Patience,
when I see your eyes in my shadow,
broken,
bleeding for you I swear,
morning suns dying, asking me where to go.

A hundred miles,
footprints on the heart,
and a trail of regrets; in colours of coagulated blood.
I'm walking for you,
walking into my own invisibility,
as skeletal women eat me alive.
(Go away, I'm struggling just to survive)

A spider's arms,
eight ways of deceit,
I desperately try to touch you with.
And a steel web,
formed from scars on my teeth,
fastening me with nails,
I shine like an angel a hundred feet above.
(Do you dream of me, the way I dream of you?)

Where is the world,
when you're on the moon?
What is an angel worth,
when I'm living in Hell?
Cross the icy seas,
I'll save you soon,
and melt away the hate.
(I'll clean the slate, and girl, we'll start anew)
