Please Stay [Letting Go]

by Beautiful Forever   Aug 26, 2008

I grabbed your hand as you turned away,
As you tried to run I made you stay,
Your eyes convey a message of hate,
But my conviction could only be fate,

You scream that our lives must part,
That we weren't right from the start,
My tears are witness to the demise,
Of our beautifully depressing tries,

I watch you leave into a cascading sunset,
A beautiful memory I will live to regret,
My inability to cope will leave me behind,
Toward these feelings of love I am blind,

Now I'm paralyzed in a endless dream,
Where we defeated our fears as a team,
With a smile and a tightly held hand,
We walk towards a future we don't understand...

Beautiful words and outstanding rhyme. This poem is so excellent and your emotions are well expressed. My favorite stanza was the first, and it kept getting better! Keep writing, always and forever...
