My deal with the devil

by Searching for Guidance   Aug 26, 2008

Have you ever felt so lonely that all you want is pain?
Have you ever wondered about life, just what there is to gain?
Sometimes the past haunts me.
At times the devil wants me,
To join in his parade,
Take part in his tirade.
When he calls my name, this demon in the night,
I look up near expecting, not startled, or with fright.
For my evil partner has been at it quite a while,
We have become pros at stealing smile after smile.
I used to wonder how my life became so dark,
Then I remembered the day I truly lost my spark.
The devil came to me one night whilst I was at a party,
Along with the cute boy I asked, "Is this cheating,"he said, "hardly."
And so we did the dirty deed,
Sucking on each other, thirstily with greed.
I told my boyfriend, because I had to.
To which he responded, "Really, how could you?!"
It was at that moment I watched my love walk out,
When I truly realized what life is about.
Without my love, the one for me,
I could not even begin to see,
Neither Right from wrong or right from left.
I got involved with vandalism and theft.
That's when I told the devil, that I'd make him quite the deal;
I said that without my love, I truly wasn't real.
As I dotted the "i's" and crossed the "t's" I looked back at life and said,
"Me without love, me without a soul, surely they both mean dead."

This struck me in the heart. I was at a time in my life where i truly struck a deal with the devil. Very dark place. But i got up and kicked the devil out of my life. I expect you to do the same. Don't let it hold you down. Excellent write, dark, but it has a moral in the end. Walah

Wow this was so great! I loved the way you worded it. Simply amazing.

It was at that moment I watched my love walk out,
When I truly realized what life is about.
Without my love, the one for me,
I could not even begin to see,

^^^My favorite part. The flow of emotions from line to line compliment the rhyme sceme wonderfully. keep it up
