Once upon a time in a country far away
There was a boy who couldn't stay
He said "mama, I need to spread my wings,
I want so see the world and experience things"
Mama was sad, but understood why
So she let him go, although inside she had to cry
Goodbyes were said and he departed
To a country where his new life started
Full of potential and eager to learn
His hunger for knowledge started to burn
A study of economics, though it was tough
Exploration of the world wide web, it wasn't enough
He absorbed all information he could get
So of course it was on the internet we met
I fell in love when I looked into his eyes
But soon I learned it wouldn't take long till our goodbyes
I loved and cherished him every day
Till the day came he had to go away
My heart bleeds and it feels so wrong
But I know he loves me and that keeps me strong
Now he will return to his mother as a man
And I think back to how our love began
Yes, he came a long way since he was that boy
And I know there's nothing our love can destroy
