The lies of time

by Ontherunsearching   Aug 26, 2008

"Only time will tell"
I heard a wise man say
But time is passing by
And you remain far away

Time doesn't hear my heart beating
When it feels you near
Time can't stop this yearning
It is not always that clear

Sure, time can pass by
And take a little hurt away
Maybe I even feel a little better
I still have to take it one step a day

There was a time I really believed
There was nothing out there, not that someone
But a voice in my head kept banging on my heart
Says you are not the only one

With time my search continued
Till there was someone on who I was prepared to place a bet
And whatever time will tell
I believe it was not dumb luck we met

And I know it looks like an illusion
Created by time
Well, my thoughts can be replaced
My feelings never be sold for a useless dime

And now this time to wonder
This so-called time to heal
Time to let it all come down
But I'm sure off what I feel

So, it still aches and it hurts and it burns
It kills me, deep within
Time won't make me forget
All that is you, the place I can find my true self in

So, the so-called truth of time
To me it's a lie
Because what is the function of time
When all I can do is try?

This poem is so true. Sometimes you just can't forget. I know. and you've written this poem so well. Great job!
