Scar Tissue

by shadow   Aug 27, 2008

Tearing through the scar tissue
And diving underneath the skin
Flowing inside one vein
And then out the other end

Blood drips from the eyes like tears
And down the fatty flesh of each cheek
This thing growing just below the surface
Promises a future too dull and too bleak

A new wound is formed on the right arm
Fresh blood flowing down and off each finger
The pain pulses in and out like a wave
Where it penitrates to the bone and lingers

You're on your knees now
Praying to the floor
You hold your arm out
As it bleed from the sore

The thing inside you
Begins to tear the skin
Growing so big
It can no longer stay within

It crawls out from the skin
Bringing about a new pain
You scream so loud
Your throat starts to strain

Suddenly there's blood all around
Your head becomes fuzzy as you start to sway
You gasp for one final breath
As you fall to your death today

And as your limp body lays on the floor
A demon the size of a small child crawls out
Your flesh ripped apart by your own monsters
Because you chose to live in a world of fear and doubt
