Home Calling

Home Calling

Concretes obscure cerulean sky
Metallic engines honking by
Afar sparrows call out my name
Virgin beauty asserts its claim

Across the banks of Brahamaputra
Granny recited stories from Tantra
Hidden beneath those rocky shores
Reminiscing times before.

Vibrant colors adorned Rongali Bihu
Commence New Year,spring bids adieu
Yummy rice cakes with curd and jaggery
Nostalgic moments of fun and foolery

Waving rice fields,such lovely scene
Reddish soil and mountains so green
Melodies of yesteryears still chime
Though covered by the sands of time

**Rongali bihu is festival of Assam(India). Here New Year starts after mid april.

Great word choice LR and imagery. My only suggestion is:

    ^Hidden beneath those rocky shores
Youthful pranks of long time before^

I think you need to tweak these to lines a bit. Long time before is not proper grammar. If you said something like :

    Hidden beneath the rocky shore
Reminiscing times before........or something like that. Then you are adhering to your rhyme scheme. You did a lovely job!

Beautiful poem. The imagery is awesome.....The longing for those days when we were young and careefree.....wishing to go back to the place where we knew we were safe and loved :) What a beautiful picture you paint of your childhood home :)
    Excellent job!

    That's a very good poem!

I really loved the words you chose! I've never seen most of them, let alone in a poem before! The imagery was insanely good, and the warm, happy feeling it gave me was very enjoyable. Thanks for letting me read your poem! It's one of the best I have ever read!
